By becoming a member of Mealeez, you agree to the following:

App Access

1. In order to make full use of the apps interactive features, you are required to register as a member by providing a valid email address.
2. You agree not to use a username that infringes on the rights of others, is obscene, defamatory, or impersonates another person. Mealeez reserves the right to refuse or remove any username at its sole discretion. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Mealeez immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. You registered details can be used to login on other devices, which includes our website. In order for our Website to function effectively, Mealeez uses cookies. By using the Website, you consent to our use of cookies in accordance with our Cookie Policy https://app.mealeez.co.uk/cookie-policy. Our Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.. Your acceptance of these terms is also an acknowledgement and agreement that cookies specific to this domain will be created and stored on the device you use to access this website.

Use of app

4. The App and Website are for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the App or Website for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the App or Website without express written permission from Mealeez.
5. You may print, download & share material from this app provided that you do not modify it or use it out of context.

App uptime

6. Mealeez will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the App and Website. However, Mealeez does not guarantee uninterrupted access and will not be liable for any downtime or technical issues.

Allergen Information

7. Mealeez takes reasonable care to provide accurate allergen information based on the listed ingredients in our recipes. However, Mealeez does not guarantee that this information is complete or error-free. Ingredient formulations and manufacturing processes can change, and cross-contamination can occur during production, packaging, or storage. 8. It is your sole responsibility to check the ingredient labels of all products you use when using our App and Website. Mealeez is not responsible for any adverse reactions resulting from the consumption of any recipe, product checked using our food label scanner, or any restaurant items, regardless of the information provided on the App or Website.

Alternative Ingredients

9. Where alternative ingredients are suggested in our recipes, these are provided as suggestions and not as guaranteed safe substitutions for individuals with allergies. It is crucial that you carefully review the ingredient labels of any alternative ingredients you choose to use to ensure they are safe for your specific dietary needs and do not contain any allergens you need to avoid.
10. Mealeez uses 'Generative AI' to suggest alternative ingredients and therefore does not independently verify the allergen content of suggested alternative ingredients. You are solely responsible for verifying the allergen information of any alternative ingredient you use by checking the product label and/or contacting the manufacturer. Mealeez disclaims any liability for any allergic reactions or adverse effects resulting from the use of alternative ingredients.

False Positives/Negatives and Indirect Allergen Marking

11. While Mealeez strives for accuracy, there is a possibility of errors in allergen information, including incorrect flagging of safe ingredients or omissions of potential allergens due to changes in product labeling, updated ingredients or manufacturing processes. Additionally, ingredients may be indirectly contaminated with allergens during production or processing. Therefore, the information provided on Mealeez should not be solely relied upon for managing allergies or intolerances.
12. Food Label Scanner

13. The food label scanner feature is provided for convenience only and may not always accurately identify all allergens or ingredients. You are solely responsible for verifying the information on product labels.

Restaurant Information

14. Mealeez provides information about restaurants for informational purposes only. Mealeez does not guarantee the accuracy of restaurant information, including menus, location & ingredients. Mealeez is not responsible for any issues arising from your interactions with restaurants listed on the App or Website.

User Content

15. Users may submit ratings, comments, and images related to recipes on the App and Website. You agree not to post, upload, or transmit any User Content that:
    1. Is false, misleading, inaccurate, or deceptive;
    2. Is defamatory, libelous, abusive, harassing, threatening, or invasive of another's privacy;
    3. Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually suggestive;
    4. Infringes any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights;
    5. Violates any applicable laws or regulations;
    6. Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
    7. Impersonates another person or entity;
    8. Is used for commercial purposes without our express written consent.
16. You retain ownership of the User Content you submit. However, by submitting User Content to the App or Website, you grant Mealeez a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the User Content in connection with the App, Website, and Mealeez's business, including for promotional purposes. This license includes the right for Mealeez to use your name or username in connection with your User Content.
17. Mealeez reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, edit, remove, or refuse to post any User Content at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including if we believe it violates these Terms. We do not endorse any User Content, and we are not responsible for its accuracy or legality.
18. You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for the User Content you submit. Mealeez disclaims any liability for any User Content posted by you or any third party.

Links to and from other websites

19. Throughout this app you may find links to third party websites. The provision of a link to such a website does not mean that we endorse that website. If you visit any website via a link on this app you do so at your own risk.
20. Any party wishing to link to this app or website is entitled to do so provided that the conditions below are observed:
    1. you do not seek to imply that we are endorsing the services or products of another party unless this has been agreed with us in writing;
    2. you do not misrepresent your relationship with this app or website; and

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mealeez shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from
    1. your use or inability to use the App or Website;
    2. any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein;
    3. any bugs, viruses, Trojan horses, or the like, which may be transmitted to or through our App or Website by any third party;
    4. any errors or omissions in any content; or
    5. any user content or the defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any third party. In no event shall Mealeez's aggregate liability exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the App or Website.

Indemnification

23. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mealeez and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the App or Website, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

24. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Scotland. Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).

Changes to Terms

25. Mealeez reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on the App and Website. Your continued use of the App or Website after the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
