Heat the oil in a skillet or other flat-bottomed pan large enough to fit the peppers in a single layer.
When the oil is hot, add the peppers and sear on one side for 1 minute until they blister. Turn them over and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for another 1-2 minutes.
Transfer them to paper towels to remove excess oil before arranging on a serving platter. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve immediately.
